Fife life sciences firm X-Genix in talks with pharma giants to help catalyse drug-development

This success story from IBioIC member company X-Genix who have discovered a new bio-based process for halogenation, which sees chlorine or bromine added to certain molecules in pharmaceutical and agricultural products, and whose overall market is believed to be worth more than $250 billion (£201bn) a year. New study gives algal treatment the green light

The results of this IBioIC funded project between Xanthella and SAMS, which found that green LED light could hold the key to extracting a valuable ingredient for natural health and wellbeing supplements from microalgae was picked up by Fish Farming Expert, The Aquaculturists, Aquafeed, FishFocus, Innovations in Food Technology, Fisker Forum, and Renewable Carbon News.
