Fermentation Training

The IBioIC FlexBio team hosted the first Certificate in Upstream Bioprocessing 3-day training programme on 28 June. 

Attendees from Croda, Roslin Technologies, Lallemand and Impact Solutions conducted a yeast fermentation in FlexBio's 30L SIP fermenter from inoculum prep, QC, harvest and clean-up, as well as hands-on with 2L and wave bag systems.

There were also talks on scale-up from Glenn Robinson (Applikon Getinge) and Ian Archer (Industrial Biotechnology Innovation Centre) - and the FlexBio fermentation team.

The feedback received was extremely positive, with attendees coming away from the course with a confident view of microbial and mammalian cell cultivation in the field of bio-manufacturing.

 

The course is available to book for 27-29 September.
