Industrial Biotechnology and IBioIC recognised in Scottish Government's Inward Investment Plan

Shaping Scotland's Economy: Inward investment Plan

The Scottish Government published the eagerly-awaited Inward Investment Plan, and we were delighted to see IBioIC and industrial biotechnology named and recognised on page 61 of the plan in ‘Opportunity Area 8: Transformation of Chemical Industries’.

“Industrial Biotechnology is an emerging, clean technology which can support the transition of these petrochemical based industries to sustainable manufacturing, producing many of these products from renewable feedstocks, including CO2 through Carbon Capture and Utilisation (CCU), and innovative biological processes.”

IBioIC was named as a key innovation asset to support this vision and industrial biotechnology was showcased as the technology that can support the chemical industry's transition. IBioIC publicly welcomed the news on Twitter.
