On Friday 30 October 2020, IBioIC welcomed members old and new to a virtual get-together with real beer tasting courtesy of Glasgow’s WEST brewery.

Located in the iconic Templeton building in the heart of Glasgow Green, WEST is the only UK Brewery to produce all of its artisan lagers and ales in strict accordance with the German Purity Law of 1516. The law prescribes only the use of water, malt, hops and yeast - and that’s it. Attendees were guided through a series of tastings by head brewer Simon, who also answered questions about the brewing techniques used and how different flavours are achieved.
