Prioritising biotechnology

Holyrood magazine ran a special edition looking specifically at Science and Innovation, and our CEO Mark Bustard wrote a column on the need to prioritise biotechnology for the green economy, and was featured alongside an interview with the Minister for Further Education, Higher Education and Science.

 

Green skills

Looking specifically to skills and how IBioIC can support the green recovery, a piece in Skills Programme Manager Rachel Moir’s name ran in the Scotsman online and in print, focusing on how IBioIC can support the drive for green jobs and green skills. To support the PhD call for projects, IBioIC ran a media announcement on the call with supporting quotes from members SWRI and FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies. The story received wide ranging pick up across a number of outlets; the NationalScottish Business NewsDeadline NewsAberdeen Business News and UMI News.  

  

Food for thought

Turning to the world of food and drink, IBioIC’s CEO Mark Bustard delved into the world of food security and how innovation through the application of biotechnology can not only support the increasing demand for alternative proteins, but also the move to reduce waste. The piece was picked up in the Scotsman (online and in print), the National (online and in print), Biomarket Insights, Circular Online and Scottish Business News

 

Countdown to COP26 conference

In the run up to the joint Innovation Centre conference, the media campaign was lead by CENSIS in partnership with the Herald. Each Innovation Centre featured in the Herald in the weeks running up to the conference. IBioIC’s week saw two pieces, first was an interview with CEO Mark Bustard in the Herald online and in print, second was a promotional piece on the session’s speakers (who were all IBioIC members) in the Herald a day later. CEO Mark Bustard was quoted on an additional promotional piece in the Herald, again part of the media campaign. 

  

Joint member-IBioIC announcements

IBioIC supported member organisation Celtic Renewables on a PR announcement alongside Falkirk Council, with a quote from Chair Dame Anne Glover seeing pick up in BioFuels International MagazineE&T Magazine and the Edinburgh Reporter. IBioIC supported new member Scottish EDGE on a joint PR focusing on the new IBioIC award that was three biotech companies receiving funding from Scottish EDGE, with the story picked up on Digit and Deadline News.
