Zero Waste Scotland have already helped identify £6 million of potential savings for Scottish food and drink businesses.

We’re offering free consultancy support to help more businesses save money and cut carbon by reducing food waste.  Support is available to business handling food and drink across Scotland.

We provide free virtual consultations to identify where savings can be made, or new revenue streams explored.  Support has already been provided to hundreds of Scottish businesses where we’ve identified savings of around £5,000 per organisation, each year.

We estimate that the opportunities identified by our consultants would cut carbon emissions by nearly 40,000 tonnes in total - that’s the equivalent of running a fridge for a year in 85,839 homes.

Our consultants also develop bespoke behaviour change programmes to establish the root causes of food waste and develop targeted interventions to catalyse change. This might include communications, interactive training, masterclass sessions, workshops, recognition, and reward incentives.  We measure the impact of success before and after, helping achieve long term reduction in food waste and lock in money savings, as part of the journey towards net zero.
