Global Capital Investment Plan published, Industrial Biotechnology and IBioIC recognised

Investing with Purpose: Scotland’s Global Capital Investment Plan

The Scottish Government published its Global Capital Investment Plan, and we were delighted to see both IBioIC and industrial biotechnology recognised as opportunities that can support recovery, growth and transition, as well as the wider place-based and Net Zero goals.

Industrial biotechnology was identified as a key growth subsector in Health and Life Sciences.

The industrial biotechnology cluster in Grangemouth was identified as a high value manufacturing key clusters cluster with IBioIC supporting this development.

IBioIC publicly welcomed the news on Twitter.

The Global Capital Investment plan forms the third chapter from the Scottish Government that seeks to globalise the Scottish economy, alongside the Export Growth Plan and the Inward Investment Plan, which all support the Scottish Government’s Vision for Trade.
