Women in Synthetic Biology network launched

In the autumn of 2021, IBioIC joined forces with the international synthetic biology network SynBioBeta and intellectual property firm Potter Clarkson to launch a new network for Women in Synthetic Biology.

Women and other under-represented genders still make up a small percentage of business leaders and entrepreneurs in biotechnology and synthetic biology. The new network aims to address this by helping like-minded individuals to connect, collaborate, inspire, and support one another.

The network held its first event in London on 15 October 2021, and a second event in Edinburgh in November, where more than 30 women enjoyed a panel discussion from female business leaders, entrepreneurs and career coaches, to explore the issues that might provide barriers to aspiring women entrepreneurs.

If you would like to participate then please join our LinkedIn Group WiSB - WiSB - Women in Synthetic Biology | Groups | LinkedIn. Please post and share useful content for your colleagues and friends.

Help us build an international network for women and underrepresented genders in synthetic biology across the globe. We plan to run a series of regional events in 2022 (both in person and online) and are very interested to hear what topics you’d like to see covered.
