Royal Society of Chemistry’s Science and the Parliament

IBioIC’s CEO Mark Bustard was a panellist at the Royal Society of Chemistry’s flagship political event for Scottish politics, Science and the Parliament. Designed to foster close relations with policymakers and key stakeholders, Science and the Parliament is organised by the Royal Society of Chemistry, on behalf of, and in cooperation with, the Scottish science and engineering community.

The 2020 theme focused on “Skills, Innovation and Covid 19” and the line up included Richard Lochhead MSP, Minister for Further Education, Higher Education and Science, Prof. Dame Anne Glover, President of the Royal Society of Edinburgh and IBioIC Governing Board Chair. IBioIC’s CEO was on a panel at the event alongside the Institute of Physics, Scottish Enterprise, ScotChem and NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. Mark told the panel how IBioIC can support the skills provision needed for the Green Recovery, and how the life sciences sector have been positioned front and centre as the world looks to science for solutions due to COVID-19.
