Scottish Fermentation Network celebrates its 10th edition

On 26 May 2022, the 10th Scottish Fermentation Network (SFN) event was hosted in Glasgow, with 41 attendees from across the UK. The event was kindly sponsored by Getinge Applikon UK.

Dr. Shiwen Zhuang (IBioIC Senior Fermentation Scientist at the IBioIC’s Scale-up facility, FlexBio) gave a warm welcome and introduced IBioIC. This was followed by three very engaging presentations delivered by our sponsor, Glenn Robinson (Getinge Applikon); Dr Samuel Casasola-Zamora (Green Bioactives); and Kenneth Macgregor (Scotch Whisky Research Institute).

The event closed with a tour and tasting at Tennent’s Brewery. Plans are currently underway for another in-person event in November.

The Scottish Fermentation Network is a voluntary community founded by IBioIC in 2017, with a mission to share knowledge, employment opportunities and also to promote synergies within members.
